An arch symbolises the passage one must pass through from life to death.
Flowers remind us of the impermanence of life.
Candles represent life, faith. The flame guides the spirit on their journey.
In memory of the dearly departed Small Space celebrates with a quirky new collection...
"The Day Of The Dead"
A predominately Mexican festival which is celebrated throughout Latin America. Based on its Catholic counterpart, "All Souls Day" it is mixed with Pre-Hispanic pagan rituals hence taking on its own unique persona.
A colourful celebration of life, not a mourning of death

is a new collection by Susan Ewington. It is inspired by a time past, a time spent, and a time remembered on the Mediterranean island. Incorporating natural form and collected remnants, each unique piece is a familiar memory and a long way from its origin.

Susan is a vibrant emerging jeweller who trained at Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE. This new collection offers the introduction of vibrant colour with quirky shape, a new direction for her.

Roman Glass
Roman glass objects have been recovered across the Roman Empire in domestic, industrial and funerary contexts. Glass was used primarily for the production of vessels, although mosaic tiles and window glass were also produced. Roman glass production developed from Hellenistic technical traditions, initially concentrating on the production of intensely coloured glass cast vessels. However during the 1st century AD the industry under went rapid technical growth that saw the introduction of glass blowing and the dominance of colourless or aqua glasses.
This new range of work utilises small pieces of Roman glass found in the Afghanistan region and has been combined with Lapis Lazuli and silver to breath new life into small ancient reminders of the past.

Pieces are made by Robyn Wernicke and are stamped with her makers mark.
